A fine large Georgian style reticulated footed basket. By James Dixon & Sons of Birmingham, England. The pierced bowl has a shaped rim and heart shaped devices in its interior and is supported by an ornate stand on cabriole feet decorated with shell devices. The center is engraved with a family crest and monogram'U. The crest reads'Malo Mori Quam Foedari', which translates to'Death before dishonor'.
