This sugar bowl is 4" tall and 6.5" handle to handle with a weight of 243 grams. The bowl has two handles and two raised vertical columnar panels on each side which frame an escutcheon. Both the top and bottom rims have elaborately engraved borders in keeping with the style of the escutcheons. This piece is marked for English sterling and Sheffield; with Queen Victoria's duty stamp; a block W for 1889; and with HH, the mark for Harrison Brothers and Howson (Norfolk St, Sheffield). As well of course as working as a bowl this piece would make a nice vase.
