1826-1829 Fine Set 4 English Georgian Sterling Silver Fiddle Forks
Presented is a fine set of 4 English Georgian sterling silver forks. The forks are done in a lovely classic Fiddle pattern, with distinctive shoulders above the tines. Each fork is monogrammed A on the handle. These are attractive, well made forks, suitable for use as luncheon forks or however else you like.

This set is in great overall condition. The forks have some knife marks to the backs of the tines.

The exterior tines (the ones on either end) have some wear/rounding, and are therefore a tiny bit shorter than the middle tines. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each fork is hallmarked on the back of the handle with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, and King George IV's head duty mark. Two of the forks have the maker's mark JH for Johnathan Hayne and the date letter m for 1827. One of the remaining forks has Johnathan Hayne's maker's mark in a slightly different style and the date letter l for 1826.

The last fork has the maker's mark for William Eaton and the date letter o for 1829. Each fork is about 6 5/8 inches long.

The total weight for the set is 195 grams or 6.9 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Non-U. The seller is "robertcharlessilver" and is located in this country: US.
