12 Antique ENGLISH sterling silver PLATES 1735year GEORGE II times

LONDON 1735-6y 12 sterling silver BREAD PLATES. I believe they are from ENGLAND of GEORGE II times and. Were made in 1735-6y in the city of LONDON. 9 plates from 12 are full marked. Hallmarks are clear as you can see in the photos, lion passant (sterling), leopard's head, an upper case "V" (1735-6y) and LONDON goldsmiths' mark - JS probably Jos. Sanders, page 195, The Book of OLD SILVER by SEYMOUR B. 3 plates of sterling silver of 12 aren't marked, but all of them are engraved with the same design. Usually this happened when they were ordered as extras and the craft master didn't carve assay marks because it took some time. Now, they are in normal usage condition with. Each plate has good weight - c.
The total weight is about 3000grams or 95-96 troy ounces. The diameter of plate is 8 3/16. This set would make a great addition to any sterling silver collection and would be a spectacular gift.
In my experience, a set from that period is hard to find; I do not think many museums have this sort of set. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Non-U.home" and is located in this country: US.
